Kuwait Stranded expatriates arrive no increase in capacity of arriving passengers
Kuwait International Airport today received a number of expatriates who were stranded abroad for more than a year or more. The first flight with expatriates passengers arrived at Kuwait international airport at 2:45 am today, Sunday, August 1, 2021, from Turkey, carrying dozens of stranded residents. The majority of the expatriates who arrived today are from Arab countries, including Lebanon, Jordan and other European countries.
Even though the vaccinated expatriates are allowed to enter Kuwait from Sunday, Airport traffic will not significantly increase as the number of arrivals is not increased.
The number of arriving passengers per day is still 5000, which is the predetermined number even before expatriates are not allowed to enter. Although earlier, DGCA had requested to increase this number to 10000, the request was not approved to date.
Vaccine update รข" The regular arrival of supplies of the vaccine in recent days, with the expectation of an increase in the number of doses contained in the shipments, will enable the vaccination campaign to finish providing the first dose to all those registered who wish to receive the vaccine before the end of this August, Al-Rai reported.
The sources revealed to the daily that 100,000 doses of the vaccine will be given daily, starting Saturday, after increasing the capacity of vaccination centres and launching new permanent and temporary centers to reach the largest segment of registered people in various regions.
