Air ambulance descends on park in Westhoughton
A crew was called to Madison Park, near Netherwood Way, at around 2pm on Wednesday, August 18.
Paramedics rushed down one side of the housing estate into a nearby terraced house, according to a bystander.
One onlooker said: "A first response unit was sent to the scene too.
"They went off down the Abbylea Drive side of the estate where there are a number of houses. Nothing happened on the actual park."
A North West Ambulance Service spokesperson said: "A response vehicle and air ambulance have responded to an incident at a private address on Abbylea Drive, Westhoughton, following a 999 call at 12.49.
"A casualty has been airlifted to hospital."
